This Year 5 grammar and writing assessment is designed to check pupils’ understanding of key National Curriculum skills, including punctuation, sentence structure, word classes, verb forms and vocabulary choices.

It aims to identify strengths and next steps while supporting children in developing accuracy, confidence and control in their writing.

We recommend that this assessment is done at the end of Term 1.
